Learning Objectives
- Describe recent epidemiological trends among cases of syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia reported within Hawai’i
- Interpret syphilis serologies using both traditional and reverse syphilis screening algorithms
- Apply knowledge of syphilis diagnostics and treatment recommendations to local cases in Hawai’i
- Discuss implementation of doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (doxy PEP) in clinical settings
- Recognize dermatologic manifestations of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that cause genital ulceration and/or extra-genital skin findings
