TB Testing Clinic Hours

Avian Influenza
To report multiple deaths or unusual illnesses in poultry, livestock, and wild birds contact HDOA Animal Industry Division at 808-483-7100 or, email: [email protected], Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or 808-837-8092 during non-business hours and holidays.
Residents who believe they may have been exposed to sick birds or other wildlife should contact the Disease Outbreak Control Division Disease Reporting Line at 808-586-4586 for additional guidance.
The Kauai District Health Office submitted an application for a June 2027 mission. We will provide an update as soon as we hear back on whether we were selected.
Kauai District Health Officer
The Kauai District Health Office (KDHO) is headed by the District Health Officer. In coordination with the State Director of Health and DOH leadership, the District Health Officer oversees the operations of all KDHO programs. This position is currently vacant following the retirement of Dr. Janet Berreman. Lauren Guest is the Acting District Health Officer and can be reached at 808-645-0407.
CASPER
A community assessment for public health emergency response (CASPER) survey was conducted on Kauaʻi in June 2026 by the Kauaʻi District Health Office. CASPER is a validated two-stage cluster sampling methodology developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to rapidly obtain information about the health and resource needs of a community. The Kauaʻi District Health Office (KDHO) conducted CASPERs annually from 2017 – 2026 (excluding 2021) to monitor trends in the emergency preparedness of island residents. Administration
The Administration section serves as the central headquarters for the KDHO and provides direct support to the Kauai District Health Officer. The KDHO includes nine program Sections: Administration, Family Health Services (FHS), Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP), Communicable Disease and Public Health Nursing Services (CDPHN), Disease Investigation, Laboratory, Public Health Emergency Preparedness, Environmental Health, and Developmental Disabilities programs.
As the front line to customers of the Kauai District Health Office, the administrative staff is made up of employees who exemplify excellent customer service skills as they are frequently called upon to assist with both external and internal customer needs.
