The Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion Division (CDPHPD) strives to promote wellness and improve the quality and years of life for Hawaii’s people through effective prevention, detection and management of chronic diseases. CDPHPD programs include:

  • Asthma
  • Bilingual Health Services
  • Cancer
  • Diabetes
  • Heart Disease and Stroke
  • Physical Activity and Nutrition
  • Tobacco Control

Bilingual Health Services
Bilingual health aides provide health education and assistance with language and cultural interpretation of health information for non-English and limited English speaking Kauai residents. We alleviate barriers to public health services for Filipino, Native Hawaiian, and Compact of Free Association (“COFA”) populations. Services include community outreach, home visits, representation on multi-cultural agencies, family and individual counseling, screening, follow-up, referral, and support in accessing medical and social services.

Kauai District Health Office Services
We are located at the Kauai District Health Office in the town center of Lihue. Please feel free to visit our office and receive more information on chronic disease management and control. To arrange for a presentation or to request services, please contact us:
