DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

The Community Services of the Developmentally Disabled (CSDD) Kauai Program is part of the State of Hawaii Developmental Disabilities Division, Case Management Branch, Case Management Unit 15 (CMU 15).

CSDD serves individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities living on Kauai who meet the eligibility criteria as determined by the Case Management Branch on Oahu according to Hawaii Revised Statutes 333F.

If an individual is eligible for services, case managers assist individuals, guardians, and families to create change through a person-centered process based on the individual’s desires, dreams and goals. Case managers connect individuals to available resources in the community as well as HCBS Medicaid DD/ID Waiver Services to support these individuals remaining amongst family and friends and living as productive, contributing members of the community, as possible.

Community education on developmental and intellectual disabilities, information and referral services are also available.

More information about the Developmental Disabilities Division can be found at the Department of Health’s page.
