MENTAL HEALTH BLOCK GRANT (MHBG)
FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR (FFY) 2027 MINI-APPLICATION
Overview
Mandated by the U.S. Congress, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Community Mental Health Block Grants (MHBG) provide non-competitive funding to states to support mental health services for adults with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) and children and youth with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED). Click here (Webpage) for an overview of the MHBG.
Every other year, in accordance with SAMHSA requirements, Hawai‘i submits a comprehensive MHBG application; in the alternating years, the state submits a mini-application. This year’s requirement is a Mini-Application. Click here (PDF) to view or download the Mental Health Block Grant (MHBG) FFY 2027 Mini-Application State Instructions.
