Judge Steven Leifman, an Associate Administrative Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County, Florida, introduces the Miami-Dade Jail Diversion Model to attendees of the Oahu Mental Health Judicial Reform Summit held on September 28, 2022 at the Hawaii State Hospital in Kaneohe, Hawaii. The Miami-Dade Jail Diversion Model includes the use of standardized assessments for eligibility and treatment, forensic peer supports, and stabilization bed units, all of which are being discussed as part of mental health reform activities in Hawaii.
