Planning and ADA Coordination

The Planning and ADA Coordination Unit is responsible for:

  • Monitoring federal, state, and county legislation and plans relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other laws for appropriate action by DCAB.
  • Coordinating the efforts of the State to comply with the requirements of the ADA, including implementation priorities, development of manuals, resources, and the State ADA website.
  • Gathering data on the statistics of persons with disabilities for planning and funding purposes; providing technical assistance to agencies in their solicitation of funds through review and endorsements of grants.

Administrative Directive No. 12-06 authorized by Governor Neil Abercrombie, appointed DCAB as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the Executive Branch departments.

The Planning and ADA Coordination Unit is being handled by staff as of this time.
