Maui Wildfire Data: Advisories and Resources
DOH is committed to supporting the Lahaina recovery efforts through actions that protect the health of all people. Advisories are an important way for DOH to communicate health concerns to the public. DOH will issue advisories if monitoring shows a potential public health risk, like hazardous levels of certain substances in the air, water, or soil. Advisories may include recommendations on how the public can reduce exposure and protect their health.
Environmental Advisories
Unsafe Drinking Water Advisory for Some Parts of Lahaina
Tap water continues to be unsafe in certain parts of Lahaina. Maui Department of Water Supply has issued unsafe water advisories for parts of Lahaina as it continues to isolate contaminated service lines. As areas are isolated, advisories are lifted for those areas. To determine if your address is within the current advisory area, please refer to the interactive map at www.mauirecovers.org/water. If you are in the advisory zone, use bottled water for all drinking, brushing teeth, ice making, and food preparation until further notice. You cannot treat the water yourself to make it safe.
The Maui Department of Water Supply has lifted the previous unsafe water advisory for Upper Kula and certain other portions of Lahaina. DOH and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency continue to provide technical support to the Maui Department of Water Supply, which issued the Unsafe Water Advisory.
