Kākoʻo Kānaka DDD Workforce Initiative – Invitation to Participate

Kākoʻo Kānaka DDD Workforce Initiative: An Initiative of the Developmental Disabilities Division promoting person-centered practices, growth, and skill development.

The spirit of the holidays is traditionally filled with hope, joy, and gratitude. As a community, our greatest joys come when our participants are leading their self-determined lives supported by a robust, and highly skilled workforce.

In this spirit, we are proud to announce the DDD’s Workforce Initiative, “Kākoʻo Kānaka” which will provide support, training, and camaraderie for our DSPs to achieve certification of DSP Level 1 from the National Alliance For Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). We are launching our first cohort of 100 learners and are now accepting “emails” of intent from provider agencies. Stipends for this cohort will be made available to participating provider agencies and their participating DSPs. A minimum of 6 DSPs and 1 Service Supervisor from each agency are required to participate.
