SCR16 SD1 Community Health Worker Professional Standards Task Force

During the 2025 Regular Session of the Thirty-Third Legislature, the Department of Health was requested by the Senate to convene a task force to identify and develop minimum professional standards for community health worker (CHW) training programs (Senate Concurrent Resolution 16, Senate Draft 1, as adopted).

A total of 19 task force members, representing CHWs from all of Hawaii’s counties and diverse public health, academic, and interprofessional backgrounds was formed in June 2025 to support the actions requested by the Senate’s resolution and will sunset in December 2025.
