The Hawaii Department of Health is proposing amendments to Hawaii Administrative Rules chapter 11-58.1, Solid Waste Management Control. The proposed amendments update all portions of the chapter. The Hawaii Department of Health is providing proposed amendments for public review and comment. A public hearing will be held on May 14, 2026 at 9 a.m. at the State Lab auditorium, 2725 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City. All interested parties may attend and present relevant information, comments and opinions. Please note, when parking at the State lab, do not park on the bottom level unless necessary.

Written comments must be received by May 19, 2026. Please see the attached public notice for additional information.

The Hawaii Department of Health will also be holding a public webinar on May 4, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. to go over the proposed amendments and answer any associated questions. Please note that this is an informational session only and no comments will be accepted at this time. The webinar will be available at the following link:
