NEWS AND UPDATES:
- ***UPDATE 11/12/24*** Pursuant to Chapters 91, 92 and 321-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, notice is hereby given that the Department of Health of Hawaii will hold public hearings on amendments to Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 11, Chapter 50 (“HAR Chapter 11-50”), entitled “Food Safety Code”. - ***UPDATE 06/14/24*** The Food Safety Branch is in the process of transitioning to a new IT system. Annual food establishment permits which expire on May 1, 2024 or beyond will not be renewed until the new system is in place. Renewal invoices will be sent out once the new system is operational. We apologize for this inconvenience.
- ***UPDATE 01/24/24*** The Food Safety Branch is currently in the process of switching vendors to manage the inspection report public website. Copies of all inspection reports are available by contacting the Food Safety Branch on each of the respective isles. To request copies of inspection reports for Oahu, you can contact via email at [email protected]. Copies of inspection reports can also be requested via phone at the following numbers:

Kauai: (808) 241-3323 - ***UPDATE 01/09/23*** In-person food handler certification classes have fully resumed for Oahu. In addition, classes for Kauai, Maui and Big Island will be offered online via Zoom and in-person for Big Island (Kauai and Maui dates coming soon). A working webcam is required for these online classes (If you do not have access to a computer/tablet with a working webcam, please contact Kyla Arruda at (808)825-1774 or [email protected] to discuss possible alternative arrangements). ANSI-accredited online courses offered by other organizations are available here (Fees may apply).

- Amendments to Chapter 11-50 will be effective on September 2, 2017. The amended rules will affect all food establishments statewide.
