Redesign of eHawaii Individual Wastewater System (IWS)!

After nearly 10 years, we are proud to announce that a redesigned version of our eHawaii portal for submitting Individual Wastewater Systems (IWS) applications is set to go live on July 21, 2026! As a core part of our review process, the wastewater branch is excited to reveal the many improvements that have been made.

Joining forces with Tyler Technologies, the website has been modernized, updated, and streamlined to deliver faster review times for property owners and to be more consistent with the Department of Health’s branding. Engineers will find that the user interface is very familiar. The website address will not change (i.e., https://wastewater.ehawaii.gov/ ), the form is essentially the same, and the payment is the same. Tyler Technologies’ web development team collaborated with the Department to introduce many new features in a familiar package:

  • New indicators for required fields,
  • Accessibility features for ADA compliance,
  • Improved instructions to reduce confusion,
  • Mobile-friendly user interface,
  • and more!
