The Communications Office is excited to announce a couple of new social media opportunities available to staff. We have officially launched a LinkedIn profile for the department as well as an internal Facebook Group for DOH staff.

Why LinkedIn? The purpose of this profile is to better engage with Hawaii’s professional community, as many other state agencies have already done. If you already have a LinkedIn profile, you will be able to officially list the health department as your employer. We also hope to use the page as a place to post current job opportunities. Although the department already has several existing public-facing Facebook profiles for education and engagement, we wanted to create a forum that would be a safe space for staff to interact online. This is a closed group for internal use only. This means that anyone can find the group and see who runs it. However, only members can see who’s in it and what they post. You will have to request permission to join the group, and the Communications Office will vet each request and grant access once your employment is verified.

The group is called “Hawaii State Department of Health – Staff Only Group” and it is now live.
