Health Promotion & Education

What is the Health Promotion & Education Program?

The Health Promotion and Education Program includes both Public Health Education and Bi-Lingual Services.

The Public Health Educator for the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Division works to promote health through policy development and community outreach that supports a healthful lifestyle.  Prevention and management of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and asthma is promoted through partnerships with many Maui agencies.

Bi-lingual Services offers community members who do not speak or understand English aid in obtaining Department of Health services as well as access to our community partners.  Currently, the Maui office offers access to language interpretation in Ilocano, Tagalog, and Marshallese.
