Doris Warner was selected to serve as Director of Queen’s Medical Center’s Trauma and Outreach Program. As such, she is tasked with improving the quality of patient care, overseeing data collection and reporting, research, and injury prevention. Her overarching goal is to prepare the Queen’s Trauma Program to become accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Trauma Center in 2017.
Prior to joining Queen’s, Ms. Warner managed the Trauma Program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for over a decade. During her leadership tenure at this Level I Trauma Center, she was a key participant in numerous professional and scientific committees such as the Philadelphia EMS Commissioner’s Medical Advisory Board and PA Trauma Nurse Advisory Council. She received research funding for a study on the Prospective Evaluation of Pedestrians Struck by Motor Vehicles, and was invited to present her research on the topic of Improving Geriatric Trauma Patient Care.
Ms. Warner’s Masters of Science in Nursing, as well as her two previous degrees, were earned at Gwynedd Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, PA. She is an active member of EAST (the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma), American Trauma Society, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association, and American Society of Spinal Cord Nurses.
