Good Shepherd Episcopal Church will host Connect suicide prevention workshops

Good Shepherd Episcopal Church will host workshops on suicide prevention, called Connect. The objectives for this training are to build awareness around the issue of suicide, its’ risks and protective factors, learn how to Connect with someone who may be thinking of suicide, and then Connect them to resources. Workshop schedule:
Friday, November 20, 2015 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm : Adults only
Saturday, November 21, 2015 9 am to 12 noon: Youth only, 15-19 years old Workshops will be held in our Parish Hall with light refreshments

These training’s are being sponsored by the UH Manoa School of Psychiatry, Prevent Suicide Maui County Task Force and the Hawaii State Dept. of Health.
Please note: those who have had a recent loss to suicide (within two years) may find attending a suicide prevention training very difficult and are cautioned against participating without a supportive friend.
