This four-hour workshop will prepare you to recognize and support a person with thoughts of suicide. You will become a “safeTALK-trained suicide alert helper,” which will allow you to move beyond the common tendency to dismiss or avoid suicide. This training will provide instruction in how to properly connect a person with thoughts of suicide to intervention caregivers.

ASIST is a suicide prevention training. Requiring two full days of participation, it is a very interactive and informative workshop. It prepares those in the community who are willing and able to be a caregiver by teaching them how to conduct a suicide risk assessment and how to establish a safety plan with a person having thoughts of suicide. The training uses a variety of methods including videos, group discussion and role in order to prepare you to be a care giving resource within your community.

find attending suicide prevention trainings very difficult and are
