Planning and ADA Coordination
The Planning and ADA Coordination Unit is responsible for:
- Monitoring federal, state, and county legislation and plans relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other laws for appropriate action by DCAB.
- Coordinating the efforts of the State to comply with the requirements of the ADA, including implementation priorities, development of manuals, resources, and the State ADA website.
- Gathering data on the statistics of persons with disabilities for planning and funding purposes; providing technical assistance to agencies in their solicitation of funds through review and endorsements of grants.
Administrative Directive No. 12-06 authorized by Governor Neil Abercrombie, appointed DCAB as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator for the Executive Branch departments.
The Planning and ADA Coordination Unit is currently vacant.
