ACHIEVING THE OUTCOMES FOR CSHCN: TOOLS, SERVICES, ETC.
The Children with Special Health Needs Branch, with state, community, professional, and family partners, is working to achieve the National Core Outcomes for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN).
The Hilopa‘a Project is supporting an “integrated” approach. Hilopa‘a is a collaborative project of CSHNB, Family Voices of Hawaii, University of Hawaii/School of Medicine/Department of Pediatrics, and American Academy of Pediatrics- Hawaii Chapter representatives (see Project Goals and Activities).
Outcome #1 – Family/Professional Partnerships
- Guidelines for Compensation for Family Participation – Hilopa‘a Project
These guidelines may be revised and adapted for other programs. A stipend or honorarium may be used to compensate families/consumers for their time, knowledge, and expertise in participating in advisory committees, task forces, work groups, presentations, etc.
