Plan, develop, and implement projects, policies, and procedures to build, improve, and to maintain state public health and healthcare systems preparedness, response, and recovery capabilities. The Hospital preparedness position coordinates with hospitals/healthcare sector and is DOH liaison with the statewide healthcare coalition on preparedness and response for all hazards.

Oversee and coordinate the activities of the OPHP planning section, which includes the Emergency Operations Planner, the Strategic National Stockpile Planner, and the Hospital Preparedness Program Planner. This supervisory position coordinates the development of statewide comprehensive public health response to all hazards, including human-made disasters and events such as weather- or climate-related emergencies and pandemics.
