Petition Process to Add New Conditions

In Hawaii, adding conditions requires an in-depth review of evidence-based documentation, and begins with thorough petitions prepared in accordance with section 11-160-7, Hawaii Administrative Rules.

Click here to access the  2018 form for qualified patients, doctors, and advance practice registered nurses to petition for additional health conditions for the DOH to consider adding to the existing list of conditions that benefit from medical cannabis.

Petitions submitted by the deadline of February 19, 2018 will be included in the 2018 public hearing. Decisions on petitions received during this petition period are expected before the end of the year.
