Subchapter 7 Ambulance Equipment and Supplies

§11-72-55 Standards for Ambulance Equipment and Supplies

A.   Required equipment in each licensed ambulance in use as such shall include:

1.   Telecommunications equipment for communications with a dispatch center;
2.   Telecommunications equipment capable of providing communication with emergency medical facilities or emergency
       medical physicians;
3.   Equipment for light rescue and extrication is required unless a fully-equipped rescue service is able to correspond with
      the ambulance on a call for which those materials are needed;
4.   Medical equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, the equipment and supplies prescribed in the documents-
      entitled Essential Equipment for Basic Life Support Ambulance Service Standards dated July 15, 1985 and Essential
      Equipment for Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service Standards dated July 15, 1985 and available from the
      department; and
5.   In the event of an emergency declared by the director, or a disaster, or a catastrophe, a readily accessible source of
      additional supplies, as delineated by the director. (b) The director shall enforce the equipment and supplies requirements
      set forth in Section 11-72-45(a).
